If you missed the opening of Dark the Night and Bright the Stars or haven’t stopped by Atlantic Morning yet, July is your month!
Atlantic Morning, standing gracefully in Portland’s historic Safford’s House owned by Woodhull Architects, is opening its doors to the public yet again on July 11th and 12th (that’s this Friday and Saturday if you don’t have your calendar in front of you). Stop by from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, or from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday to see this beautiful show!
But it doesn’t stop there! Dark the Night and Bright the Stars is open every day (except Tuesdays and Federal Holidays) from 11am-7pm. Check out this stunning show in the Ticonic Gallery at Waterville Creates, centered around the theme of ancestry. This show explores through a variety of media the history, complexity, compassion, and pain that constitute personal and collective identity. You won’t want to miss it!

Volunteer Work Party: Sign Painting!
This one is going to be a fun one! We are prepping for the Norway Maine Arts Festival, and it’s time for the signs. We are making our own signs out of plywood and need YOUR help to get them ready! Stop by Wednesday from 10am-2pm to have us help work on cutting and painting signs to go out into the world! We will have a yummy lunch ready for you if you let us know about dietary restrictions.

Encaustic Show in Cafe Nomad!
"The Ways of Encaustic" will be showing at Cafe Nomad, Norway, ME, Sept. 1-30. Featured will be encaustic artists Anne Stuer (Norway), Betsey Foster (Greenwood), and Heather Newton Brown (Casco). Each of them works in different styles. Their works explore some of the very different ways encaustic can be used to create art - some smooth and silky, some textured and dynamic, some assemblages of encaustic and objects of nature.
