Lights Out is excited to present the poster design for the 2025 Norway Maine Arts Festival, created by Bella MacArthur from Sacopee Valley High School in Hiram, Maine. MacArthur’s poster was selected for attention to detail, unique perspective, and hand-drawn elements.
Continuing the tradition of a poster design contest open to students from Oxford Hills Technical School, Lights Out extended the contest this year, open to any graphic design-inclined high school student attending in Oxford County. This extension would not be possible without the support of Dirigo Federal Credit Union, sponsoring the contest and cash prize. After the poster was selected, MacArthur worked alongside the Creative Director at Lights Out, Karlë Woods, to revise, finalize, and talk about her experience with graphic design. With 30 submissions from a variety of towns and schools, the organization was blown away by the time put into this contest. Thank you to all of the students who participated and to all of the faculty and adults who help support the future of arts and design.
One of the past winners of the poster design contests, Caroline Sheets, going into her junior year at Colby will also be joining Lights Out as a design intern this summer. “Giving Oxford County students opportunities to pursue art and design as a career is essential to the mission of Lights Out”, said Karlë Woods, Creative Director of Lights Out.
The Norway Maine Arts Festival will occur on September 13th, 2025, from 10am-4pm, the festival will be a jam-packed day of celebrating creativity through art, food, music, farming, and community. Attendance is free!
